National Rail Museum is located in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. This place is a major tourist destination spread over 10 acres showcasing India’s railway heritage of over 160 years. Established in 1977, this museum offers a unique experience of vintage trains, engines, historic coaches and toy train rides, which is a great place for children and history lovers.
Rail Museum Ticket Prices
On working days in the Rail Museum, the ticket for adults is Rs 50 and the ticket for children of 3-12 years is Rs 10. Whereas on weekends (Sat-Sun) tickets cost Rs 100 for adults and Rs 20 for children. Also, separate tickets have to be purchased for rides like toy train, joy train and 3D simulator. Its timings are usually from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and it is closed on Mondays. That means you can plan a visit anytime between Tuesday and Sunday.
How to reach National Railway Museum?
The nearest metro station to reach the Rail Museum is Dhaula Kuan, from where a distance of about 2 km can be covered by auto, while bus facility is also available from the Central Secretariat. If you wish, you can also come by private cab or your own car.
