Giving his first reaction after being seriously injured in the attack on the Gurudwara in Nanded, Maharashtra, the Akali Dal President said that his father Sardar Prakash Singh Badal had never compromised against these wrong forces. As Chief Minister, Sardar Badal maintained the amity of brotherhood among all religious communities in Punjab despite the wrong elements active at that time. He said that respecting all religions was the basis of our state’s policy.

Sardar Badal said that even one and a half years ago, he was targeted by these anti-ideological forces in the Sri Darbar Sahib complex in Amritsar. Now once again I have been attacked at the most sacred place associated with Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He said that he is never afraid of such acts nor will he ever bow down to these elements. Sardar Badal said that we can make any sacrifice for religious harmony and progress of the country and Punjab. This will remain our top priority.

Thanking Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj for protecting him on his land, the Akali Dal president said that even though the enemies of peace tried their best to kill me, Guru Sahib protected me. I express my gratitude to him with all my heart, because I believe in the saying that no matter how hard one tries, no one can spoil those who have the blessings of Guru.

Meanwhile, Bathinda MP Biba Harsimrat Kaur Badal expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling her to personally inquire about the health of the Akali Dal president. He thanked the Prime Minister for taking immediate cognizance of the incident and directing central investigating agencies to coordinate with Maharashtra Police in the investigation. He also thanked Union Home Minister Amit Shah for reaching out to him during this difficult period and ensuring an effective investigation into this tragic incident.
