SUV Tyres: Yokohama India has added the new Geolander X-CV to its Geolander SUV tire series. It is the second road-focused tire in the series after the Geolandar H/T. The new X-CV range will be offered in sizes ranging from 16 to 20 inches, keeping the Indian market in mind. Tire profiles up to 32 will be available in it. According to the company, sales of these tires will start from the end of August through Yokohama Club network and select authorized dealers. However, the company has not yet disclosed their prices.

16 and 17 inch size for the first time in India
The special thing about Geolandar X-CV is that India is the first market where this tire series is being offered in 16 and 17 inch sizes. In the global market, Geolandar X-CV series is generally available in sizes 18 inches and above.

According to Nitin Mantri, Chairman, Yokohama India, the demand for 15-16 inch tire size in the SUV segment in India is very significant and is continuously increasing. Keeping this in view, the company has decided to bring the X-CV in a smaller size. These tires in 16 inch size have been introduced keeping in mind SUVs like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

X-CV tires will not come in 15 inch size
The company has clarified that at present there are no plans to bring Geolandar X-CV in 15 inch size. According to Nitin Mantri, this range focuses on the premium segment and the company wants to maintain it in sizes of 16 inches or larger.

Better grip and high-speed stability
Yokohama claims that the Geolandar X-CV has an asymmetrical tread pattern, which has four main grooves. These grooves help in providing better grip on wet roads.

The tires have also been designed to reduce road noise. Full nylon cover and two-ply sidewall have been used in these, which is claimed to improve the strength of the tire and stability at high speed.

According to the company, Geolandar X-CV is also compatible with electric vehicles. This can make this tire an option for traditional SUVs as well as the growing EV SUV segment.
