New Delhi: On the occasion of the country’s 80th Independence Day on August 15, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolor for the 13th consecutive time from the ramparts of the historic Red Fort and addressed the nation. In his speech, he expressed condolences to the people affected by the floods and talked about the direction of the country with the big goal of developed India. He said that today the country is remembering all those freedom fighters and revolutionaries who dedicated their lives for independence.
