Partition Memorial Day was celebrated today in the Collectorate Auditorium, remembering the struggle and sacrifice of lakhs of people who lost their lives in the tragedy of partition of the country and suffered the unbearable pain of displacement. On this occasion, Minister of State, Social Welfare Department, Uttar Pradesh Government Sanjeev Kumar Gond, Vice Chairman Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Tribe Commission Jeet Singh Kharwar and District Magistrate Charcha Gaur, Chief Development Officer Jagriti Awasthi, District Social Welfare Officer Gyanendra Singh Bhadauria, District School Inspector Jai Ram Singh, Minority Welfare Officer Sudhanshu Shekhar Sharma, Assistant Tourism Officer Rajesh Kumar Bharti, Additional District Information Officer Vinay Kumar Singh along with officers, employees, teachers and girl students observed silence for two minutes. Paid heartfelt tribute to those who lost their lives in the tragedy of Partition.
Minister of State Sanjeev Kumar Gond said that the partition of the country has been one of the most painful events in Indian history. During that period, countless families lost their loved ones, lakhs of people had to leave their homes and go through the unbearable pain of displacement. Partition Horrors Memorial Day is an occasion to reverently remember the struggle, sacrifice and sacrifice of all those people.
He said that this tragedy of history teaches us that mutual brotherhood, social harmony and national unity are the greatest strengths of any nation. We should rise above the differences of caste, religion, region and language and move forward unitedly, keeping the national interest paramount. This will be our true tribute to the millions of people who suffered the pain of partition.
Vice Chairman Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Tribe Commission Jeet Singh Kharwar said that Partition Horrors Memorial Day reminds us of that difficult period of history, when millions of people had to endure the pain of displacement, conflict and separation from their loved ones. Remembering the struggle and sacrifice of those people, we should take a pledge that the spirit of peace, harmony, tolerance and mutual brotherhood always remains strong in the society. He said that it is necessary to acquaint the new generation with the history of the country and the struggles for independence.
The pain of history makes us understand the importance of unity, not division. Every citizen should discharge his responsibilities keeping the unity, integrity and social harmony of the nation paramount. We should take inspiration from the struggle of our freedom fighters and those who suffered the tragedy of partition and contribute to building a developed, strong and harmonious India with the spirit of 'Nation First'.
The public representatives, officers, employees, teachers and students present during the program observed two minutes silence and paid tribute to those who lost their lives during Partition. Also, remembering their struggle and sacrifice, a resolution was taken to keep the unity, integrity, social harmony and mutual brotherhood of the country intact.
