Tezzbuzz Desk- The Indian Army has taken a big step towards strengthening its drone capability. Army contacted domestic companies 840 one-way attack drone A total of contracts worth Rs 1,577 crore have been signed for purchase. These drones have been designed to target targets at a distance of more than 100 kilometers. The special thing is that these drones are supplied by two major defense companies of the country. Tata Advanced Systems And nibe defense Will do. The Army is expected to take delivery of these drones within the next 12 months. These drones are being procured under the fast-track process. The objective of this process is to rapidly meet the immediate needs of the Army. Under this, the companies winning the contract have to start the supply within six months. This is said to be the first major order for long-range one-way attack drones for the Army under the fast-track process. Of the total 840 drones, about 64 percent will be supplied by Tata Advanced Systems, while the remaining drones will be provided by Nibe Defense.
The biggest feature of these drones is their long range. These will be able to reach targets located at a distance of more than 100 kilometers. The army can use them to target military positions deep across the border and especially enemy artillery positions. Such drones are considered very important in modern warfare, because through them they can attack distant targets without putting conventional fighter aircraft or large numbers of soldiers at risk. These systems have been developed keeping in mind the challenges of modern electronic warfare. to the drone Jamming and Spoofing It has been prepared to work even in such conditions. Through jamming, the enemy may try to disrupt the drone's communication or navigation signals, while spoofing involves confusing the system by giving false signals. In such a situation, amidst these challenges, the effective capability of drones will be important for the army.
The experiences gained from recent military operations have also been taken into account in the development and testing of these drones. According to the report, these systems were tested in harsh conditions, including performance in a jamming environment during flight. The large-scale use of drones and loitering munitions in the Russia-Ukraine war and conflicts in West Asia has highlighted their growing role in modern warfare. The Indian Army is preparing to include even more long-range drone systems in its fleet in the future. Such systems are also in process, whose range more than 1,500 kilometers It is being told. The existing 840 drones will primarily enhance the capability to engage deep-lying targets across the border. This will strengthen the army's ability to carry out precise attacks and will boost the defense systems prepared in the country.
