In this low-scoring match held at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, Meerut Mavericks, captained by Rinku Singh, registered a thrilling victory by 1 wicket. Kashi Rudras had scored 118 runs losing all the wickets in 19.3 overs. Chasing this target, Meerut Mavericks team won on the last ball. His last pair helped the team sail through. Rinku Singh scored 28 runs in 21 balls. Yash Garg scored unbeaten 23 runs in 14 balls, which included 1 four and 2 sixes.
Earlier, Yash Garg had done wonders with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. IPL star Zeeshan Ansari also took 3 wickets. Abhishek Goswami scored the highest score of 42 runs for Kashi Rudras. However, they did not get enough support from the other end, due to which Kashi Rudras' team could not set a big target for Meerut Mavericks. The first phase of the tournament will be held in Lucknow, while the second phase matches will be played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The playoff and final will be held in Kanpur itself. In the league stage of this tournament, which will run till September 6, teams will face each other twice in double round-robin format. After the league stage, there will be playoff matches like IPL.
The teams finishing first and second in the points table will face each other in the Qualifier 1 match on September 3. The third and fourth placed teams will face each other in an eliminator match on the same day. The winning team of the Eliminator will then play the losing team of Qualifier 1 in Qualifier 2 on 4 September. The winning team in this match will face the winning team of the Qualifier 1 match in the final match on 6th September.
