New Delhi : Heavy rain is expected in many parts of the country on Saturday. Meteorological department in 16 states heavy rain, Thunderstorms with rain and lightning have been warned. During this period, strong winds of 40 to 80 km per hour are expected in coastal and plain areas.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a deep depression in the coming days. The system will move north-westwards over Bengal and Jharkhand, which will increase the intensity of rainfall over eastern and central India. A rain warning has been given all over the country. Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ajmer districts of Rajasthan will experience reduced rainfall. However, moderate to heavy rains are likely over parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur and Kota divisions.

Meanwhile, several districts of Uttar Pradesh including Meerut, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Moradabad and Bijnor are likely to receive light to heavy rains between August 15 and 18. There is also a possibility of lightning during this period.
Special alert warning for heavy rain
Bihar, Punjab, hilly states will receive rain in many parts of the state. A special alert has been issued for heavy rains on August 17 and 18. Heavy rains will continue in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from August 15 to 19.
This trend of rain continues till August 19
There is a risk of thunder and lightning over Kangra, Shimla, Kullu and Chamba in Himachal Pradesh, while special caution has been advised in Uttarakhand on August 16-17. Heavy rain is likely in some parts of Punjab. This trend of rain will continue till August 19.
