Mahindra has launched the BE 6 Sporteq in India at a starting price of ₹19.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric SUV gets a revised variant lineup, new technology features, a 70kWh battery option and a triple-screen dashboard on select variants. Deliveries will begin on August 26. The BE 6 has also been renamed the BE 6 Sporteq as part of the update. Mahindra has introduced Battery as a Service (BaaS) for select variants, while the Formula E Edition continues to be available. The BE 6 Sporteq is available with 59kWh, 70kWh and 79kWh battery packs. Prices range from ₹19.45 lakh to ₹26.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The 59kWh battery is available with the ONE, TWO and THREE variants at ₹19.45 lakh, ₹20.95 lakh and ₹21.95 lakh, respectively. The 70kWh battery is offered with the THREE and THREE+ variants at ₹22.95 lakh and ₹23.95 lakh, respectively. The 79kWh battery is available with the THREE+ at ₹24.95 lakh, the Formula E Edition at ₹24.45 lakh, and the FOUR and Launch Edition at ₹26.95 lakh.

BaaS cuts upfront cost Mahindra has introduced BaaS with the BE 6 Sporteq for the first time. Under this model, customers buy the vehicle separately and pay a usage-based subscription for the battery. The ONE variant with the 59kWh battery costs ₹11.45 lakh under BaaS, while the TWO variant costs ₹12.95 lakh. The battery subscription is ₹3.75 per km for both variants. Mahindra says the BaaS pricing is based on an assumed usage of 60km per day and an eight-year battery loan tenure. The prices do not include statutory charges such as road tax, insurance and TCS. Three screens inside The main changes to the BE 6 Sporteq are inside the cabin. Select variants get three 12.3-inch screens across the dashboard, replacing the earlier dual-screen setup. The layout is similar to the one seen in the XEV 9e and XEV 9s. Mahindra has also replaced the earlier halo-like dashboard loop with a horizontal design. This creates more storage space and provides easier access to the wireless charging pad and USB Type-C ports. The Sporteq introduces Mahindra's software-defined vehicle architecture and six TEQ technology suites covering connectivity, personalisation and vehicle functions. TEQ_Me recognises the driver and loads a personalised profile, while TEQ_Talk adds Google Gemini integration. TEQ_xting allows owners to display personalised messages on the LED tailgate display. TEQ_Drive adds Custom Drive Mode, Tribe Drive, Drift Mode, Acceleration Boost and Revive SOS. Mahindra says Revive SOS can provide enough charge for up to 13km of driving to the nearest charging station after the battery reaches zero. It can be used up to five times during the battery's lifetime. Mahindra will also roll out Google Gemini integration to existing Mahindra electric SUVs through an over-the-air update from January 2027. Depending on the variant, the BE 6 Sporteq gets a panoramic glass roof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 540-degree camera, head-up display, Level 2 ADAS, connected-car technology, auto park assist, an NFC digital key and wireless phone charging. The cabin is available with a black-and-tan colour theme. The Launch Edition gets a Full Racing Tan interior with matching upholstery and dashboard trim. Formula E gets new look The BE 6 Sporteq range includes the Formula E Freedom Edition, which arrives less than a year after the original Formula E variant. The Freedom Edition has an exterior closer to the standard BE 6, with C-shaped front and rear DRLs and restyled bumpers. It also gets Formula E fender badging, a Rosso Impulso paint option and tri-colour body decals. Inside, it retains the halo-like dashboard loop and dual 12.3-inch display setup instead of the triple-screen arrangement. It gets a Firestorm Orange interior, leatherette and suede upholstery, a dedicated Formula E Freedom Edition plaque and a 540-degree camera that provides 360-degree and underfloor views. The Formula E Edition is priced at ₹24.45 lakh (ex-showroom) with the 79kWh battery, while the FE FOUR costs ₹26.95 lakh. Range goes up to 683km The BE 6 Sporteq retains Mahindra's rear-wheel-drive electric powertrain. It uses a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor and produces 380Nm of peak torque across all three battery options. The 59kWh version develops 231hp, the 70kWh version produces 245hp and the 79kWh version makes 286hp. The claimed MIDC range is 548km for the 59kWh battery, 651km for the 70kWh battery and 683km for the 79kWh battery. The 59kWh battery supports up to 140kW DC fast charging, while the 70kWh and 79kWh batteries support up to 160kW and 180kW, respectively. Mahindra claims that all three batteries can charge from 20% to 80% in 20 minutes using their respective maximum-rated DC chargers. An optional 7.2kW or 11.2kW AC wall charger is also available. Full charging takes between 6 and 11.7 hours, depending on the battery and charger selected. The BE 6 Sporteq competes with the Tata Sierra EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and MG Windsor.
