Automobile Desk: Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra has officially introduced the BE 6 Sporteq (Sporteq) in India, expanding its electric SUV portfolio. The company has kept the starting ex-showroom price of this new electric car at Rs 11.45 lakh (with BaaS – Battery as a Service option). Whereas, to buy this premium SUV without BaaS option, you will have to pay Rs 19.45 lakh (ex-showroom). This model has been introduced in the market with a newly launched edition, which is equipped with many advanced features and modern technology.
New avatar and unique rear display technology
In terms of design, the BE 6 Sporteq retains the same silhouette as its standard variant, but several cosmetic changes have been made to give it a special identity. 'Launch Edition' badging has been given at the rear of the vehicle. The most unique feature of this SUV is its rear tailgate light, which has a rear-light messaging feature. This allows the driver to display custom messages of his choice on the rear tailgate. Mahindra has also introduced a new color palette with this new edition, which includes the 'Freedom Edition' in an attractive orange shade.
Choice of 12 colors and 8 amazing variants
Keeping in mind the choice of customers, Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq has been offered in a total of 12 color options. These include four brand new paint shades—Rosso Impulso, Ruby Velvet, Graphite Storm and Firestorm Orange Satin. This vehicle will be available in a total of 8 variants, which include the options of One, Two, Three, Three+, Four, FE, FE Four and Launch Edition.
Cabin equipped with three screens and gaming-karaoke
The biggest change is seen inside the cabin of the car. A triple-screen setup has been given on the dashboard of the newly launched edition. Apart from the driver and central infotainment, a separate display has been added for the front passenger. This third screen can be used for entertainment features like in-car gaming and karaoke. Additionally, there is a special Sportec logo on the center console which gives a spotty feel to the cabin.
Revive SOS with Google Gemini support and 13 KM
On the features front, this vehicle is very hi-tech. 'TEQ_Me' feature has been added in it which identifies the driver and sets a personal profile accordingly. It has Google Gemini based 'TEQ_Talk' for voice commands and connectivity. To make driving exciting, it has modes like Tribe Drive, Drift Mode and Acceleration Boost.
For security and emergency situations, 'Revive SOS' technology has been provided in it. This feature provides emergency power to drive the car for approximately 13 kilometers even when the battery is completely at 0%. This feature can be used 5 times in the entire lifetime of the vehicle. Apart from these, safety features like ventilated seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging, 6-speaker sound system, airbags and ADAS are also included in it.
Powerful battery pack and range of 682 km
A new 70 kWh battery pack has also been added to the Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq along with the existing 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery options. Coming with a rear-wheel drive motor, this car generates power of 286 hp and torque of 380 Nm. Mahindra claims that its large battery pack is capable of delivering an impressive driving range of up to 682 km under MIDC cycle on a single charge.
