Paris Saint-Germain star Desire Doue has said the French champions are aiming to win every trophy on offer this season after lifting the UEFA Super Cup. The France international scored once and provided one assist as Luis Enrique's team beat Aston Villa 2-1, becoming only the fourth club in history to successfully retain the trophy.

Doue delivers another European title

The 21-year-old French forward proved decisive for PSG as they saw off Villa 2-1 in the UEFA Super Cup at Stade Louis II. Doue set up Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for the opening goal before calmly finishing a perfectly weighted through-ball from Ousmane Dembele with his left foot in the 63rd minute. With that win, the French powerhouse became just the fourth side ever to keep hold of the Super Cup in successive years.

Match-winner calls for more trophies

The youngster also reached an impressive landmark, becoming the first player since 2015 to record both a goal and an assist in the same Super Cup match.

Speaking to Canal+ after the trophy presentation, the attacker made clear the scale of the squad's ambition under Luis Enrique: "Our mindset is always to win, to be as competitive as possible. We are very happy. Coming back from holiday, we knew it would not be easy, but we put the right things in place tonight. The main objective, above all, is to win everything this year."

At the same time, goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, who made three crucial saves, praised the team's mental preparedness in comments to club media: "It's just like usual. It's very good, at the start of the season, to have a title. We haven't trained much, but I think we've shown that we're ready for the season."

Enrique joins an elite managerial group

Retaining the title further underlined PSG's strength in Europe after a five-trophy haul during the 2025-26 campaign. The win also placed Luis Enrique in an exclusive group, as he became only the third manager to win the Super Cup three times, after Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola. Building momentum so early in the season sends a strong message that the reigning champions' squad depth and financial power remain without equal.

Trophee des Champions up next

PSG now have an immediate chance to add another trophy when they face Lens in the Trophee des Champions this weekend. Enrique's side will then begin the defence of their Ligue 1 title at home against Rennes the following week. A tough early run of fixtures will test the fitness of key players who have only just returned from their summer break.
