New Delhi : Before the end of the year many countries in the Northern Hemisphere including India Super El NinoA crisis is likely to arise. A very powerful El Niño is developing in the Pacific Ocean, and this could be the strongest El Niño since 1950, according to a report by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

It has been expressed that its impact will start to be felt from September and its intensity will reach the highest level by the end of the year. The process of abnormally warmer surface sea water in the Pacific Ocean is called El Nino. Under normal conditions, winds push warm water towards Asia. However, when these winds weaken, warm water moves towards the central and eastern Pacific Ocean. As a result, changes in rainfall, temperature and weather patterns occur in different countries, affecting the global atmospheric circulation.

Rain Update : Important rain update; Heavy rain will continue till August 18, alert issued by Meteorological Department

Meanwhile, the timing of the potential impact of Super El Niño is likely to provide some relief to India. Generally El Nino has a delay of about 40 to 45 days in impacting the Indian Ocean and surrounding areas of India. So the monsoon in India is likely to be in its final phase till the impact of El Nino becomes more pronounced. In addition, the Indian Ocean Dipole System can moderate the impact of El Niño to some extent.

Fear of increased impact in winter

There is a 70 percent chance that this year's El Nino will be very strong. Also, it has been said that there is a 90 percent chance of El Niño conditions remaining very strong during the Northern Hemisphere winter. Due to this, there is a possibility of major changes in the weather conditions in India, and if the amount of rainfall decreases in some areas, drought-like conditions may arise.
