For women in sport, the battle is not always against an opponent. Sometimes, it is against the assumption that they do not belong. At the ‘We Women Want Conclave’, athletes from motorsport and cricket spoke about finding their place in fields where women remain a minority, and the people and experiences that helped them stay on that path. Speaking at the ‘We Women Want Conclave’, India’s first F4 women driver Shriya Lohia recalled discovering racing through go-karting at 18 during a family trip. Her family supported her, though there was hesitation because of the dangers of racing and her father was nervous as it’s a risky sport.
