Ajatashatru of Indian politics

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Atal ji's six decades of public life was undisputed and spotless. He continued to work as an enemy of Indian politics with the spirit of 'nation supreme'. He started his public life with Satyagraha against the imposition of Article 370 in Kashmir under the leadership of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.

Gave importance to the country by rising above the party

CM Yogi said that even in his different roles as MP, Foreign Minister, Leader of Opposition, National President of Jan Sangh and Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister, 'nation first' was always there for him. He may have held any position, from being an ordinary BJP worker to National President, Leader of Opposition, Leader of the House, Prime Minister, etc., but his aim in life was only 'Nation First'. Whenever the need arose, he gave importance to the country above the party.

Atal ji's contribution in national security

The Chief Minister said that when Congress had imposed Emergency on the country, he had actively participated in the movement to get rid of the Emergency by merging Jan Sangh with the Janata Party. During the wars of 1962, 1965 and 1971, instead of putting the government in the dock, he contributed in strengthening the security of the nation by standing with the government as a responsible parliamentarian.

Role in preventing political instability

CM said that how steps can be taken to stop the period of instability in Indian politics and achieve the goal of good governance through political stability, the example that Atal ji set by forming the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 1996-98 through political coordination, remains relevant in Indian politics even today. NDA along with its allies under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party is continuously achieving the goals of good governance by running various governments within the country and states.

The former Prime Minister was simple, but 'unwavering' in his intentions.

The Chief Minister said that Atal ji was as simple and easy-going as he was in his intentions. During the Kargil conflict, the world recognized the iron determination of Atal ji. At that time Atal ji had said that war has been imposed on us, to which we will give a befitting reply. Without bowing before every power in the world, Atal ji established India as an atomic power.

Convinced himself as Prime Minister, proved the irony of successful governance

CM Yogi said that Atal ji got the opportunity to enter Parliament for the first time in 1957 from Balrampur parliamentary seat of Uttar Pradesh. He represented Lucknow parliamentary constituency five times. He proved his mettle for successful governance as leader of the opposition party and Prime Minister. Today the entire country is paying homage to the memories of the former Prime Minister.

On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister of State for Agriculture Baldev Singh Aulakh, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, Rajya Sabha MP Brajlal, MLA Neeraj Bora, Legislative Council Member Avnish Singh, BJP Metropolitan President Anand Dwivedi etc. also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee by offering flowers at the statue.
