Panic due to earthquake in Balochistan, Pakistan, earth trembled with 4.0 intensity

Islamabad. Earthquake tremors were felt in Dalbandin of Balochistan province of Pakistan on Saturday. According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, the intensity of the earthquake was recorded at 4.0 magnitude. The epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 35 kilometers underground and its epicenter was located about 100 kilometers south-west of Dalbandin.

According to the local administration, no loss of life or property has been reported so far due to the earthquake. However, after the tremors, an atmosphere of fear and anxiety was seen among the people for some time.

Earlier in the month of June also, earthquake tremors were felt in Barkhan district and surrounding areas of Balochistan, Pakistan, after which three people were injured. In May, mild to moderate earthquakes were recorded in many parts of Pakistan.

Pakistan is among the countries sensitive to seismic activities. Due to its geographical location being near the border of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, there is a risk of earthquake here. Areas such as Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan are located close to major fault lines.
