Mangaluru. BJP leaders in Mangaluru, Karnataka have given a written complaint against Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi at Urwa police station. This complaint has been made after the controversy over Sonia Gandhi's alleged gesture during the singing of 'Vande Mataram' at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi on the occasion of Independence Day.
BJP leader made serious allegations-
BJP leader Vikas Puttur alleged that 'Vande Mataram' was being sung during the flag hoisting program at the Congress headquarters on Independence Day. According to him, during this time Sonia Gandhi allegedly instructed the party workers to stop it.
Vikas Puttur said that the entire country has seen this incident and BJP sees it as an insult to 'Vande Mataram'. He claimed that action can be taken under law in this matter.
'No matter how big the post, action should be taken'-
The BJP leader said that 'Vande Mataram' is an important song to the national spirit of the country. According to him, no person's position or political influence can be above the law. He has demanded the police to investigate the matter and take legal action.
Warning to go to High Court if FIR is not filed-
Vikas Puttur told that he has lodged an official complaint against Sonia Gandhi at Urwa police station and has demanded the police to register an FIR.
He said that if the Karnataka government and police do not take action in this matter, he will file a PCR in the Karnataka High Court. The BJP leader said that he has full faith in the justice system.
At present, all eyes are on what further action is taken by the police after the complaint.
