NTA releases answer key of UGC NET 2026, opportunity to object on 84 subjects, know the last date

New Delhi: National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer keys of 84 subjects of UGC NET June 2026 examination. Now the candidates appearing in the examination can match their answers through the official website and if there is any objection in any question or answer, they can challenge it. According to NTA, the process of filing objection on the answer key will remain open till 11:59 pm on August 18, 2026. Candidates will have to deposit a processing fee of Rs 200 for objection on each question. Along with this, it is said that no objection will be accepted after the prescribed time limit. Candidates will have to login to the official website of NTA for any objection to the answer key. There you will have to select the relevant question and register your objection and pay the prescribed fee online. The agency has clarified that the objections lodged by the candidates will be reviewed by a committee of subject experts. If any objection is found correct, then based on that necessary changes can be made in the final answer key. While preparing the final result, the revised answer key will be used as the basis.

Separate information for three subjects

NTA said that a separate committee has been formed to review possible mistakes in the question papers of English, Commerce and Sociology. Based on the recommendations of the committee, further information to these subjects will be issued through a separate public notice. Let us tell you, UGC NET exam is conducted for eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and admission to PhD programs in universities and higher educational institutions across the country.

Opportunity for CSIR-UGC NET candidates also

NTA has also given the facility to the candidates of Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2026 to lodge objections on the basis of provisional answer key. The objection window for this will remain open from 16 to 18 August 2026 till 11 pm. CSIR-UGC NET June exam was held on July 17 and 18 in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

Its objective is to determine the eligibility of candidates for JRF, Assistant Professor and PhD admissions. NTA has appealed to the candidates to rely only on the updates released on the official website of the agency and verified social media handles for any information to the examination.
