Sribhoomi correspondent: On the occasion of 80th Independence Day and Rishi Arvind Jayanti, a grand two-day program was organized at Saraswati Vidyaniketan located in Dulabhchhada of the district. A festive atmosphere was maintained in the school campus through various cultural and patriotic programs. The program was inaugurated by School Management Committee Chairman Vikas Ranjan Kaloar, Secretary Krishna Chandra Pal and Chief Guest Asit Baran Nath by lighting the lamp. After this, Vandana was presented in the participation of Acharya-Acharyas. The President, Secretary, Chief Guest, Principal Acharya and Acharya-Acharyas offered floral tributes and garlanded the portrait of Bharat Mata and Rishi Arvind. The guests were honored by wearing Angavastra.

At the beginning of the program, condolence was expressed on the sudden demise of Chandan Pal, co-secretary of the newly formed management committee of the school. President, Secretary, Chief Guest, guests, Principal Acharya, Acharya-Acharyas, parents and students paid tribute to the departed soul by observing one minute silence. After this, student Virat Das recited Subhashit and Rajdeep Sinha recited Amritvachan. School Principal Suryarekha Sinha gave the welcome speech. Acharya Uttam Pal, Principal Acharya Suryarekha Sinha and Rupu Das participated in the inaugural music.

In the cultural programme, students presented solo and group dance, poetry recitation, music and patriotic songs. Student Diwakar Das read the biography of Rishi Aurobindo. Rajdeep Sinha, Uddiyan Pal and Virat Das expressed their views on the importance of Independence Day. Students of Ankur, Mukul and Kishlay classes participated in the program 'Become as you wish'. Group dance, solo dance and patriotic songs added special attraction to the programme.

School President Vikas Ranjan Kaloar, in his address, threw light on the importance of Independence Day, the life philosophy of Rishi Aurobindo and various topics to the all-round development of the school. Parents representative Lovely Nath was specially honored by wearing Angavastra. He appealed for cooperation from parents to increase the number of new students in the school in the upcoming academic session.

Management Committee Secretary Krishna Chandra Pal, Chief Guest Asit Baran Nath and other guests also expressed their views on various topics to Independence Day, ideals of Rishi Aurobindo and the development of the school.

At the conclusion of the program, President Vikas Ranjan Kaloar, Secretary Krishna Chandra Pal, Chief Guest Asit Baran Nath, other guests and the school's head teacher and teachers gave away awards to the students who participated in various competitions and programs.
