Six Miles Coast Resort operated briefly after opening in 2019 before halting because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and has been abandoned since. According to the Hue City Economic and Industrial Zone Management Board, two resort projects in Chan May-Lang Co Commune have suspended operations after failing to trade profitably: Xanh Lang Co Resort and Lang Co Resort.
Lang Co Resort’s assets are frozen and cannot be transferred or sold, at the request of the Ministry of Public Security. Six Miles Coast Resort’s investor is completing procedures to resume the project after years of dormancy.
Lang Co was elected the 30th member of the Worldbays Club, an international association of the world’s most beautiful bays, at the group’s fifth summit in Setubal, Portugal, in May 2009, becoming the third Vietnamese bay to join after Ha Long and Nha Trang.
