Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav addressed a program on the birth anniversary of Avantibai Lodhi at the party office in the capital Lucknow on Sunday. During this, for the first time, he took a dig at Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) President and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary.
Speaking at the same event, Akhilesh Yadav regretted the alliance made with RLD during the last elections. He said that we did it in such a way that the alliance people had come from nowhere.
'We have converted a penny into rupees'
Regarding Jayant Chaudhary, the former Chief Minister said, 'We did it in such a way that the alliance people came from nowhere. We made Rs. 250 rupees, yet they left us and went away.
I'm a cheapskate who will turn around'
In fact, just before the UP elections in January 2022, Jayant Chaudhary's Rashtriya Lok Dal had an alliance with the Samajwadi Party. Keeping in view the Jat votes in Western Uttar Pradesh, BJP was also trying to bring Jayant into its fold. In response to this, Jayant Chaudhary had said, 'I am someone who will turn back.'
Jayant Chaudhary had suddenly turned around
Let us tell you that in the 2022 assembly elections, Jayant Chaudhary had contested on 33 seats in alliance with SP. After the elections his party could win only 8 seats. After this, Akhilesh Yadav's party SP made its MLA Jayant Chaudhary a Rajya Sabha MP. But Jayant joined BJP as soon as he became Rajya Sabha MP. Later BJP made him a minister in the Modi government.
