If we talk about the current situation, at present only one Vande Bharat sleeper train is running on the tracks in the country, which is serving between Howrah and Kamakhya. This train has 16 coaches, which includes 11 third AC, 4 second AC and one first AC coach.

However, in view of the huge demand from passengers and the long waiting list, Railways has decided to prepare larger rakes with 24 coaches. With the arrival of the new train set with 24 coaches, more passengers will be able to get confirmed tickets in a single trip. This train will be no less than a boon for passengers traveling overnight and on long distance routes. The main objective of Railways is to make the journey of passengers fatigue-free with modern facilities and high speed.

AC coach will be included in Amrit Bharat 3.0, freight EMU is also ready to transport goods.

ICF is not limited to Vande Bharat only, but Amrit Bharat train, the favorite of common passengers, is also being upgraded. Amrit Bharat trains running till now have only non-AC sleeper and general coaches, but AC coaches will also be added in the new 3.0 version. With this, passengers traveling on a low budget will be able to get the option of air-conditioned travel at affordable fares.

Besides this, ICF has also developed 'Freight EMU' trainsets to utilize Vande Bharat's modern technology in freight transportation. This will enable safe and superfast delivery of white goods (electronics and home appliances).

From suburban local to metro, the pace of technological change

Chennai Coach Factory has also made many other technological achievements in recent times. The country's first 15-coach EMU rake has been prepared for local services, which is called the lifeline of Mumbai. At the same time, to ensure the safety of passengers, automatic sliding doors are also being installed in non-AC local coaches. Kolkata Metro coaches are also being redesigned with single-piece sidewall panels, improved aluminum paneling and modern roof designs to give them a new look and strength. Overall, this new vision of Railways is going to completely change the picture of travel on Indian Railways in the coming days.
