Fast bowler Hasan Mahmood took 9 wickets in the match and won the Player of the Match award. He took 6 wickets in the first innings, while 3 wickets in the second innings. Hasan Mahmood sent Australian openers Travis Head and Jake Weatherald to the pavilion in both the innings. He also contributed 14 runs with the bat. Hasan Mahmood may have scored less runs but the most important thing was that he faced 92 balls. He made a 46-run partnership with Mehdi Hasan Miraz for the 7th wicket when Bangladesh had lost 4 wickets in a span of 11 runs.

Miraj, who came in at number seven, scored 65 valuable runs as off-spin all-rounder Mehdi Hasan helped Bangladesh cross the 400-run mark in their first innings and take a huge lead. Tanjid could not open the account in the second innings but it did not make much difference in the short run chase.

Captain Shanto scored 84 runs in 126 balls in the first innings. Even though he missed a century, he never allowed the Australian bowlers to dominate. Shanto also showed excellent captaincy. Throughout the match, he controlled the bowlers well and did not allow Australia to make big partnerships, due to which Bangladesh never lost control of the match.

Taskin Ahmed

Experienced fast bowler Taskin Ahmed took the wickets of Cameron Green and Beau Webster in the first innings. He dismissed Mitchell Starc in the second innings. Taskin took only 3 wickets in the match but he did not let the hard work of the other bowlers go in vain by continuously applying pressure from the other end. He also contributed 14 runs with the bat in Bangladesh's first innings.
