America deported Indian citizen Jashandeep Singh from the country on August 3. The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has included Jashandeep Singh in the list of five foreign nationals who were deported from the US after being found guilty in criminal cases last week.

DHS has not made public information to Jashandeep Singh’s age, his city of origin or his immigration history to the US. It is also not clear when he entered the US or how long he remained in ICE custody before being deported.

Who is Jashandeep Singh?

According to DHS, Jashandeep Singh was convicted of aggravated assault involving a sexual offense involving the use of force, burglary and theft. Jashandeep Singh was the only Indian citizen included in this list. Apart from him, four other people deported from America were citizens of Guatemala, Mexico and Chile. The department said that he was deported on August 3, 2026.

However, no information has been revealed about his entry into the US. His companions also told him when ICE detained him or deported him. No details about this have been revealed openly.

Whom did America deport?

According to the information released by DHS, apart from Jashandeep Singh, four other foreign nationals were included in the five people deported last week.

  • Ramon Gregorio Herrera-Ruiz (Guatemala) was deported on 4 August. He was convicted of murder, three counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license.
  • Jorge Martínez-Guerrero (Mexico) was deported on 4 August. He was convicted of negligent homicide and re-entering the United States illegally.
  • Berta Montano Jimenez (Mexico) was deported on 6 August. He was convicted in the case of buying, selling and manufacturing of weapons without license.
  • Williams Alejandro Cortés Contreras (Chile) was deported on 4 August. He was convicted of first-degree residential burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony.

What did DHS say about deportation?

According to the US Department of Homeland Security, Secretary Markwayne Mullin said that ICE officers work every day to arrest and deport people from the US whom the administration considers dangerous. He said last week’s deportation action involved people who were convicted of murder, drunk driving, sex crimes and weapons trafficking.

Also claimed decline in crime rate

Markwayne Mullin also linked the increase in deportations in America to the decline in crime rates in the country. He claimed that the crime rate across the country has reached ‘historically lowest level’. He credited this change to the leadership of US President Donald Trump.

However, the information released by DHS did not share additional information like Jashandeep Singh’s age, his hometown, date of entry into the US or time spent in ICE custody.
