New Delhi: Amid growing allegations of irregularities and rigging in competitive examinations, the Jharkhand government has taken a major decision by canceling all examinations conducted through private agency TDPL.
The decision comes after massive protests by students and continuous opposition in the state Legislative Assembly. The Hemant Soren-led government announced that the entire TDPL examination process, including exams conducted, declared results, selected candidates, participating candidates, and all activities, would be cancelled.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren said the government reviewed all aspects of the matter before taking the decision. He added that irregularities and mistakes committed since 2014, whether major or minor, would be investigated.
The state cabinet has also decided to cancel the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level (JSSC-CGL) examination.
CM Soren assured students that the government would bring transparency and reforms to the recruitment system. He said a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for conducting examinations already exists, and many irregularities could have been avoided if it had been properly followed.
The government has decided to form a committee headed by an IAS officer to review the examination process and suggest further reforms.
Students Celebrate Decision
The announcement brought relief and excitement among JPSC and JSSC aspirants. Students who had been protesting welcomed the decision and raised slogans celebrating their unity and victory.
Slogans like “Long live student unity” and “Our demands have been fulfilled” echoed among the protesting candidates after the government’s announcement.
