Ben Wheatley directed the neo-Western thriller Normal, which Derek Kolstad wrote. The film arrived in theaters on April 17, 2026, with Bob Odenkirk leading the cast as Sheriff Ulysses. He accepts an eight-week posting in Normal, Minnesota, hoping the temporary position will give him time away from difficulties in his personal life and the problems surrounding his previous work as a police officer.

The small community initially appears to offer the quiet environment he was looking for. However, it quickly changes when a bank robbery takes place in the town. The incident brings an underlying secret to the surface and changes Ulysses’ understanding of the community he has been assigned to.
