Traffic disrupted due to landslide, many roads closed

Due to continuous rains (heavy rains in Uttarakhand), life has become disrupted due to landslides happening at many places. Uttarkashi Yamunotri National Highway has been blocked due to debris near Durbil and Jangalchatti in the district, the work to open it is going on war footing. Apart from this, due to heavy rains, debris has also entered the famous Kalpeshwar temple complex located in Chamoli. SDRF saved lives of 8 people

The rising water level of rivers and streams has become a huge threat to the people. A total of 8 people were trapped in two separate incidents in Dehradun and Rishikesh, who were rescued by the State Disaster Response Force (SDF).SDRF)'s teams wisely and bravely evacuated safely:

Rishikesh incident: A Max vehicle overturned in the swollen 'Bean River' on Monday night. Taking immediate action, SDRF took out the two persons trapped in the vehicle with great effort and took them to the hospital.

Dehradun (Than village) incident: 6 students of a private university had gone for trekking in the forest, but during their return, they got stuck due to the rise in the water level of 'Swarana River' due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand. The SDRF team that reached Dakpathar walked about six kilometers and rescued all the students safely.

Appeal of administration and SDRF

SDRF commander Arpan Yaduvanshi has appealed to citizens, tourists and students to take special precautions in view of the bad weather. He has said that during the rainy season, the water level of rivers and streams can suddenly increase, hence people should avoid going to the banks of rivers and plan trekking or travel only after checking the weather forecast.
