Royal Enfield, the country's leading performance motorcycle manufacturer, has launched a new 'Gorkha Edition' of its best-selling Classic 350 in the domestic market. Some cosmetic changes have been made in this new edition which make it different from the standard Classic model. The company says that this edition is dedicated to the Gorkha Regiment of the Indian Army; In his honour, the color and design of the bike clearly reflects the Gurkha identity.

The Gorkha Edition is actually based on the Classic 350. This bike has been launched at a starting price of ₹ 2.11 lakh (ex-showroom). Its official booking has started with the launch and it can be booked through the company's official website or authorized dealership.

How is the new Classic 350 Gorkha?

This special edition is more than just a new look; It reflects the heritage and identity of the Gorkha Regiment. The bike has been decorated with a special 'Gorkha Green' paint scheme. It also has a special badge featuring a crossed *Khukri* (the iconic knife used by the Gurkhas), making it different from the standard model. The company has not made any major structural changes to the design; The classic 350 look and upright seating position of the bike remains the same.

Mechanically, the Gurkha Edition is powered by the same 349cc, air-cooled J-series engine as the Classic 350. This engine produces 20.1 bhp power and 27 Nm peak torque and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox. In fact, there is no significant change in performance; Instead, the company has focused on making the bike special through its looks and features.

Slipper clutch with assist function is also provided in Gurkha Edition. The company claims that this feature makes the ride smooth and easy while changing gears. Additionally, the bike also has a Type-C USB fast-charging port, allowing devices like smartphones to be charged quickly while riding.

Royal Enfield hasn't just introduced a motorcycle with the 'Gurkha Edition'; The company has also launched a range of riding and lifestyle gear under the same name. The design of the collection is inspired by the Gorkha Regiment, with elements such as the look of military uniforms and the crossed *khukri* motif. The lineup includes items like dual-certified Jet Quest helmets and jackets.
