- New registration series MH-43-CW for vehicles has been officially launched by Navi Mumbai Transport Department.
- To get a preferred or VIP number, vehicle owners have the facility to apply online by paying a fixed fee.
- By paying the fee through the Government Accrued Accounting System (GRAS), vehicle owners can choose the number they want as per the rules.
The new registration number series MH-43-CW will be introduced by the Transport Department as the existing series of registration numbers are getting exhausted due to increasing registration of vehicles. The process of registering vehicles in this new series will be done through the concerned transport office. A 'Preference Number Application' has been made available for vehicle owners who want to get their preferred number in the new series. Vehicle owners will have to pay a prescribed fee to get a special or preferred number.

Vehicle owners applying for preferred number are required to complete the relevant process and deposit the fee prescribed by the government. Instructions have been given to use the government accrual accounting system for payment of fees. With the new MH-43-CW series, new numbers will be available for vehicles being registered in the future. Vehicle owners who want to get a preferred or special number can choose the number by applying as per the relevant rules.

Apart from the availability of numbers for registration of new vehicles, the transport department's decision has also set a separate process for vehicle owners applying for preferred numbers.
