The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday ordered to send Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for treatment.
Imran Khan Hospital Transfer: Islamabad. The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday ordered to send jailed former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for treatment and medical examination. The court directed the authorities to transfer him to the hospital. Also, it was asked to form a medical board for detailed examination of his health. According to reports, the order came during the ongoing legal hearing regarding his health condition.
Court asked for complete medical report
A bench of three judges was hearing petitions to Imran Khan’s treatment and meeting with his family. During the hearing, a complete medical report was sought from the Adiala jail administration. The court said that instead of the complete report, only its gist has been presented before it. The report cited concerns about blood pressure and heart conditions. The matter of advice of getting angiography done also came to the fore.
Eye disease also mentioned
In the report of the jail administration, Imran Khan’s eye disease Central Retinal Vein Occlusion i.e. CRVO was mentioned. According to the report, after the treatment, the vision in his affected eye has improved significantly and is said to be almost normal. Imran was earlier taken to the hospital for treatment of this problem.
Advice to keep health away from politics
Supreme Court advised PTI not to make Imran Khan’s health condition a political issue. The court also raised questions on the statements made in the media after the meetings of the family and party leaders. The court declared it to be Imran’s right to meet his sisters. Also sought information about meetings and conversations with sons in the last three years.
Imran is in jail since August 2023
73-year-old Imran Khan is in jail since August 2023. After his removal from the post of Prime Minister in 2022, several cases were registered against him. These also include matters to government gifts and marriage. Imran Khan and PTI have been calling these cases a political action and deny the allegations.
