Massive fire breaks out in Kolkata hotel, 9 including Bangladeshi nationals killed

A massive fire broke out in a hotel in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, on the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday. It is reported that so far 9 people have died in this accident. At least 6 people have also been injured in this accident. Most of those who died were Bangladeshi citizens who had come to Kolkata for treatment. Dozens of hotels are running in the same building where the accident took place and the building is quite old.

 

A statement issued by the fire department said that the fire broke out in the hotel located on Mirza Ghalib Street at around 2 am. According to the same statement, the people who lost their lives in this accident were Bangladeshi citizens and they had come for treatment.

 

 

There are many hotels and guest houses at one place

According to news agency PTI, 6 people have also been injured in this accident. After receiving information about the accident, 5 fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot. It took a lot of effort to extinguish the fire because the building is very old and the roads are narrow. After getting information about the incident, teams of police and disaster management department also reached the spot.

It can be seen in the pictures that many guest houses and hotels are running in the building where the accident took place. It is not yet clear which hotel the fire originated from and what was its cause. However, looking at the building, it can be guessed that it is quite old and it has very few entry and exit routes.
