Bank of Baroda LBO Recruitment 2026: Bank of Baroda (BOB) has issued a notification for the regular recruitment of Local Bank Officers (LBO). Under this recruitment drive, a total of 2,482 posts in the Junior Management Grade/Scale-I (JMG/S-I) category will be filled. The online application process begins today, August 18, 2026.

Interested and eligible candidates can apply online and pay the application fee via the bank's official website until September 7, 2026. Candidates may apply for only one state and must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the local language of that state.

Recruitment for 2,482 Posts
Bank of Baroda has allocated the Local Bank Officer posts across various states. Of the total vacancies, 981 posts are for the General category, 600 for OBC, 358 for SC, 240 for ST, and 303 for the EWS category.

Among the state-wise vacancies, Gujarat has the highest number of posts at 1,185. Additionally, there are 418 posts in Karnataka, 218 in Maharashtra, and 132 in Tamil Nadu. The total vacancies are distributed across 20 states.

Candidates can opt for only one state. Proficiency in the local language of the chosen state is a mandatory requirement for recruitment.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of August 1, 2026. Reserved categories will be granted relaxation in the upper age limit as per regulations. Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution.

Additionally, candidates must have at least one year of post-qualification experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the RBI.

It is important to note that experience gained in the clerical cadre will not be considered valid for this recruitment.

The bank has also listed certain professional certifications that will be given preference. These include IC 38, NISM Series V-A (Mutual Fund), NISM Series XXI-A (PMS), and NISM Series XIII (Common Derivatives).

Knowledge of Local Language Required
Candidates must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the designated local language of the state for which they are applying.
Candidates who have not studied the relevant local language in Class 10 or Class 12 will be required to take a Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

How will the selection take place?

Questions related to Banking Knowledge, General/Economic Awareness, and Reasoning & Quantitative Aptitude will be bilingual. The English Language paper will be in English. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for incorrect answers. The English Language section will be qualifying in nature, and its marks will not be included in the final merit list.

What is the salary?
Selected candidates will be appointed in the pay scale of ₹48,480 to ₹85,920 (JMG/S-I scale).

Candidates possessing one year or more of experience as an officer will be granted an advance increment as per the rules. Appointed candidates will be required to complete a probation period of 12 months.

3-Year Service Bond Condition
Selected candidates will also be required to execute a bond to serve for a minimum of three years. If a candidate leaves the service before the stipulated period, they must pay an amount equivalent to three months' gross salary, subject to a maximum limit of ₹2 lakh.
