In the politics of Uttar Pradesh, the electoral chessboard has already started to be laid for the 2027 assembly elections. There is a fierce battle in the political circles regarding alliances and calculation of seats. Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has made a very big and shocking claim regarding the seat distribution of the allies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led NDA alliance.

Sharing a detailed post on social media platform 'X' (Twitter), Akhilesh Yadav said that BJP is trying to please its smaller allies out of fear of its possible defeat. According to the SP chief, BJP is planning to give a total of 162 seats to its allies.

Akhilesh Yadav's claim: How many seats can which party get?

In this claim, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has made public the figures of seats of all the major constituent parties of NDA. According to him:

  • Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD): 73 seats
  • Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (Subhashpa): 39 seats
  • Nishad Party: 31 seats
  • Apna Dal: 19 seats

Akhilesh Yadav says that BJP is preparing this entire electoral mathematics only because there is huge political pressure on it from the backward, Dalit and minority (PDA) class. However, this is a figure entirely based on Akhilesh Yadav's own claims and political assessments.

Akhilesh took direct aim at the mathematics of seats.

The SP chief sarcastically wrote through his post that this exercise of BJP is the last attempt of BJP to keep its allies united due to the fear of possible defeat in the elections. Akhilesh also argued that the number of seats given to NDA allies is far less than the proportion of the PDA population in the state. This is the reason why this election strategy of BJP will prove to be completely ineffective.

Akhilesh Yadav alleged that only on the advice of political advisors and election experts, BJP is planning to give maximum seats to its allies, so that as the elections approach, these parties do not leave the alliance and go to the other side.

Sharp arrows of allegations fired at BJP government

Along with revealing the figures of seats, Akhilesh Yadav fiercely attacked the policies and working methods of the Yogi government. He claimed that the common people of Uttar Pradesh have now made up their mind to show BJP the way out of power. To prove his point, the SP chief listed more than two dozen issues and shortcomings.

Akhilesh Yadav alleged that inflation, unemployment and corruption have reached their peak in the state. He cornered the government on the issues of education system, paper leaks, rigging in examinations, poor condition of government hospitals, expensive electricity and bad roads. Along with this, he also raised questions on the justice system by mentioning the bulldozer action, alleged fake encounters, deaths in police custody and false cases. Akhilesh also strongly raised the pending demands of Anganwadi workers, Asha daughters-in-law, teachers and class IV employees.

Rigging in recruitment and siege on Agniveer scheme

Raising the issue of the future of the youth, Akhilesh Yadav said that the rules of reservation in government recruitments are being continuously ignored. Citing the example of the much-discussed 69,000 teacher recruitment, he alleged that justice was not done to the reserved category candidates.

Apart from this, targeting the Central Government's 'Agniveer Scheme', Akhilesh said that this scheme has badly broken the morale of the youth who have been dreaming of joining the army for years. Along with accusing BJP of ignoring the rights of farmers, laborers and various professional classes, he also seriously accused BJP of hatching a big conspiracy to change the Constitution.

Apna Dal's strong counterattack: 'SP chief himself is spreading rumours'

After this big claim of Akhilesh Yadav, a sharp reaction has come from NDA's ally party 'Apna Dal (Sonelal)'. Ashish Patel, a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government and husband of Apna Dal leader Anupriya Patel, has given a befitting reply to the statements of the SP chief.

Ashish Patel said that Apna Dal believes in working on the ground and not in doing politics just by posting or reposting on social media. He said that his party works on the ground among the people and is strictly following its coalition dharma.

Taking a dig at Akhilesh Yadav, Ashish Patel said that in 2027, NDA is once again going to form the government in Uttar Pradesh with full majority. Perhaps because of this nervousness and fear of defeat, Akhilesh Yadav himself is being included in the list of leaders spreading rumours.

Both alliances in mood to see each other in 2027

Both the BJP-led NDA and the SP-Congress India (INDIA) alliance are busy strengthening their respective positions for the upcoming 2027 assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

While on one hand Akhilesh Yadav is claiming to expose BJP's seat sharing plan, on the other hand NDA constituents are claiming their landslide victory. This political drama of seat sharing and claims and counterclaims is going to heat up the politics of Uttar Pradesh in the coming days.
