Ladli Behna Yojana FAQ: The Ladli Behna Yojana is one of the major women empowerment schemes launched by the Madhya Pradesh government. Under this scheme, a fixed amount of financial assistance is transferred directly to the beneficiaries' bank accounts every month. Previously, beneficiaries received ₹1,250; however, in November 2023, the Mohan Yadav government in Madhya Pradesh increased this amount to ₹1,500.
This means the government provides annual assistance of ₹18,000 to women. Additionally, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Mohan Yadav government announced an extra payment of ₹250, meaning women will receive a total of ₹1,750 in August.

Yes, family income is taken into account for the Ladli Behna Yojana. If the combined annual income of a woman's family exceeds ₹2.5 lakh, she will be ineligible for the scheme.
Can benefits be availed if there is an income tax payer in the family?
If any member of the applicant's family is an income tax payer, the woman will be ineligible for the scheme.
Are unmarried women eligible for the scheme?
The Ladli Behna Yojana covers only married women, divorcees, widows, and women who have been abandoned by their husbands (even if not legally divorced).
Can ASHA, Anganwadi, and Sahayika workers avail the benefits of this scheme?
Anganwadi Sahayikas and ASHA workers are eligible to avail the benefits of the Ladli Behna Yojana. She can avail of the benefits provided she does not fall under any category of ineligibility.
Is a woman eligible for the Ladli Behna Yojana if she is already availing benefits from another scheme?
A payment of ₹1,500 is now made under the Ladli Behna Yojana. If a woman is a beneficiary of a social justice pension and receives less than ₹1,500, she is eligible to receive the difference to make up the ₹1,500 amount. For instance, if a woman receives a pension of ₹700, she will be given an additional ₹800 under this scheme.
Will benefits be available if a family member of the woman is an elected representative in a local body?
If a family member of the woman is an elected representative in a local body, she will not be eligible for the scheme. However, she will not be deemed ineligible if the family member holds the position of *Panch* or *Up-Sarpanch*.
Which documents are required for the Ladli Yojana?
To avail the benefits of the scheme, the applicant woman is not required to attach any certificates with the application form; a self-declaration made in the applicant's information sheet is sufficient. However, the Family Samagra ID, Individual Samagra ID, Aadhaar card, a personal Aadhaar-linked DBT-enabled bank account, and a mobile number are mandatory.
Can more than one woman from the same family be eligible for the Ladli Yojana?
More than one woman from the same family can avail the benefits of the Ladli Behna Yojana. Here, "family" refers to a husband, wife, and their dependent children; a joint family does not fall under this definition of "family."
