Aston Martin has unveiled its new Velan supercar at Monterey Car Week. According to the company, it is their most powerful front-engined production car to date. It has a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine taken from Vanquish, which produces 850hp power and 1,000Nm torque. Only 150 units will be made and it will be priced at £1.5 million (approximately ₹19.46 crore).

**Equipped with 850hp V12 engine**

The Aston Martin Velan shares the same 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine as the Vanquish, but power has been increased to 850hp – 15hp more than the Vanquish – while torque remains the same at 1,000Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The gearbox's software is based on the software of the Vantage GT4 race car. Velan accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds and its top speed is 345 km/h.

**Lower weight, more aggressive design**

The Velan weighs 110 kg less than the Vanquish. To reduce weight, lightweight materials like carbon fiber, aluminium, titanium and magnesium have been used. The company has also made major changes in ESP, throttle, braking and steering systems. The suspension uses stiffer springs to reduce body roll and pitch, allowing the car to respond quicker to driver inputs. Its design is also more aggressive than traditional Aston Martin models.

**Special wheels and aerodynamic design**

The Velan rides on lightweight magnesium wheels shod with specially designed Pirelli P Zero R tyres. It has tires of size 275/35 ZR21 at the front and 325/30 ZR21 at the rear. It also includes Pirelli's Cyber ​​Tire technology, which shares tire- information in real-time with the car's dynamic control system. Large air vents on the sides expel air rearwards from the wheel arches, helping to increase downforce. At the rear, the conventional rear windscreen has been replaced by a strengthened tailgate; When opened, you get 170 liters of boot space. The tailgate itself acts like an aerodynamic wing – giving a 'gurney flap' effect – and creates downforce, reducing drag. Below this, there is a thin LED tail-light bar and 3D-printed quad titanium exhaust tips. The 'Q' personalization department also offers the option of a fully exposed carbon-fibre exterior.

**Premium features in the cabin**

The interior of the Velor is inspired by the Vanquish, but with a number of unique changes. It has a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The center console is 3D-printed and features a push-button start/stop system and an aircraft-style drive mode selector. Customers can choose between 'Sport Plus' seats and carbon-fibre 'Performance' seats. Additional features include a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system, 360-degree camera, digital interior rear-view mirror, power-adjustable steering column and wireless phone charger.

Aston Martin has priced the Velor at £1.5 million, which comes to approximately ₹19.46 crore. This price does not include optional extra features. The company will make only 150 units of the Velor, and all of them will be created by its 'Q' personalization division. Deliveries will begin in the second quarter of 2027. With an 850hp V12 engine, 110kg weight reduction and a more aggressive design, the company has positioned the Velor as its most powerful front-engined production car to date.
