Patna. RJD's Raj Bhavan march led by Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on the issue of paper leak, unemployment and students in Bihar turned into an uproar after police action. Thousands of workers participated in the march that started from JP Golambar. Water cannons were used to stop the protesters at the Income Tax intersection after they crossed the police barricades at Dakbungla intersection. After this Tejashwi Yadav was taken into custody.
While being taken into custody, Tejashwi Yadav said that he is not afraid of going to jail. He said, “Our Lord Shri Krishna was also born in jail.” Tejashwi alleged that the entire action was taken on the orders of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and the government would eventually have to bow down.
Raj Bhavan march started from JP Golambar-
RJD MPs, MLAs, Legislative Councilors, senior leaders and a large number of workers gathered at JP Golambar. Before starting the march, Tejashwi Yadav bowed to Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan. After this he left for Raj Bhavan with the workers.
Police had set up heavy barricades at Dakbungla intersection to stop the march. A large number of policemen were also deployed.
Use of water cannon as soon as the barricade is crossed.
Despite police restrictions, Tejashwi Yadav and RJD workers started moving forward. After this the police used water cannon to control the crowd. After the action, Tejashwi Yadav was taken into custody.
During this time, the supporters also tried to move ahead by breaking the barricades, which created a tense situation at the Income Tax intersection.
Tejashwi said- Government is scared-
Before being taken into custody, Tejashwi Yadav said that the government is scared. He said that RJD was carrying out a peaceful march carrying the tricolor on the students' issue and their fight would continue.
Tejashwi said that the movement will continue to end unemployment, stop paper leaks and ensure transparency in competitive examinations.
Answer sought from government on AK-47 firing-
Tejashwi Yadav raised serious questions on the government regarding the alleged AK-47 firing during the student movement. He asked who had given the order to open fire on the students and how the AK-47 reached the accused jawan.
He sought answers to all these questions – from which unit or armory the weapon was issued, which officer gave permission for it and from which level the order for firing came.
Tejashwi said that taking action only against the accused constable will not work. He also demanded action against Siwan SP, making public the account of used cartridges and investigating the entire command chain.
Misa Bharti also surrounded the government-
RJD MP Misa Bharti also targeted the government over paper leak, unemployment and student movement. He questioned who had given permission to use AK-47 during the demonstration.
Misa Bharti alleged that the government is playing with the future of the students of Bihar and the entire matter should be investigated impartially.
'Bihar has become the capital of paper leaks'-
Tejashwi Yadav attacked the government over the continuous paper leaks in Bihar and alleged irregularities in competitive examinations. He said that employment, better education and transparent examinations have become big questions for the youth in the state.
Accusing the government of patronizing corruption, he said that the allegations of use of force against students who put forth their demands democratically are very serious.
Questions were also raised on the silence of the Chief Minister-
Tejashwi Yadav demanded the Chief Minister to break his silence on the alleged firing and conduct a judicial inquiry. He said that mere transfer is not enough, but accountability of the responsible officers should be fixed.
Now the politics of Bihar has become more heated after the police action during the Raj Bhavan march. RJD has announced to continue its agitation on the issue of students, youth and unemployment.
