New Delhi. Under the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, the official pension letter will be handed over to the eligible women in a program organized at Talkatora Stadium on August 26, while from September 1, the pension amount will start reaching their bank accounts directly. This process will continue continuously and eligible women will continue to get the benefits of the scheme regularly.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a review meeting of Delhi Lakshmi Yojana at Delhi Secretariat on Tuesday. Apart from Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma, chairpersons and officials of the District Level Approval, Monitoring and Grievance Redressal Committees (DLAMGRC) formed for the scheme were present in the meeting. The progress of the scheme was reviewed in the meeting and the work done in such a short time was appreciated.

In the meeting, the committee officials told the Chief Minister that special enthusiasm and interest is being seen among women regarding Delhi Lakshmi Yojana. The present government is seriously working for the empowerment of women and making them economically empowered and the benefits of the scheme are now going to reach the eligible women directly. In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the role of district level committees is very important for the success of the scheme. He asked the officials of the committees to scrutinize and monitor each application with utmost seriousness so that eligible women can get the benefits of the scheme without unnecessary delay. The faster the investigation process is completed, the quicker the cases will be resolved and the faster the process of delivering pension to eligible women will also be.

The Chief Minister said that local public representatives are also included in the district level committees. In such a situation, if any fact in an application appears suspicious, it should be investigated seriously, so that no problem arises in future. He said that the government is soon going to make such arrangements on the official portal of Delhi Lakshmi Yojana www.dly.delhi.gov.in, under which eligible women who have entered wrong or incomplete information in the application, will be given another opportunity by correcting it. Till now no problem has been reported in the implementation of the scheme, the main reason for this is the work being done seriously by the district level committees. The Chief Minister urged the committee officials to make continuous efforts to make the scheme successful and maintain constant coordination with the officials of the concerned departments.

The Chief Minister told in the meeting that in just 18 days after the launch of the scheme, about eight lakh women have registered on the portal, while more than five lakh applications have been finally submitted. This unprecedented support received from the women of Delhi in such a short time is historic. Before this, no government scheme has received this level of public response in such a short time. This is a record in itself and these figures show the increasing confidence of the women of Delhi towards this scheme of women empowerment.
