Bijpur/Sonbhadra- Due to the continuous torrential rains in the area, all the rivers and streams are in spate. No trace of the 10-year-old boy who drowned in the Bichhayari river in Rajmilan on Tuesday and the 45-year-old youth who went to save him could be found even on Wednesday. Throughout the day, flood relief teams and local divers teams kept searching in the strong current of the river with boats and safety equipment, but till the evening, both of them could not be found. According to the information, on Tuesday, three children of Rajmilan village were playing on the banks of Bichhayari river. During this time, all three started swimming in the water with the help of a wood and went into deep water. Due to sudden loss of balance, Lallu's (10) son Manraj's stick overturned and he started drowning.

Two other children present with them somehow reached the bank safely and started making noise. Hearing the screams of the children, Rajkumar (45), son of Bahadur, who was working in a nearby field, immediately ran towards the river. Seeing the innocent child drowning, the prince jumped into the river without caring for his life. However, due to the strong flow of the river and high water level, he too got swept away in the water and went missing. As soon as information about the incident was received, a large crowd of villagers gathered at the spot. The police arrived after receiving the information and immediately started the search with the help of local divers, but due to darkness and strong current, the operation had to be stopped on Tuesday night.

Since Wednesday morning, a joint team of flood relief team and police administration conducted an intensive search operation amid the strong flow of water, but no trace of either of them could be found. The rescue team is continuously searching for both of them in the lower areas of the river. After the incident, the family members are in bad condition and there is mourning in the village. Police Station Head Rajesh Kumar Singh said that due to the strong flow of water, the rescue team is facing a lot of trouble and every effort is being made.
