Delhi SIR: Voter list intensive revision campaign going on in the country's national capital Delhi (Special Intensive Revision) That means the Election Commission has given a big update regarding Delhi SIR. The schedule of voter list intensive revision campaign in Delhi has changed again. According to the Election Commission, the final voter list will now be published on November 4 instead of October 27. Voters are advised to view the draft roll after it is published on August 31 and confirm their names and information.

The Election Commission of India on Wednesday made changes in the schedule of 'Special Intensive Revision' (SIR) of the voter list in Delhi. Officials said that important stages of the process have been postponed by a week and the publication of the final voter list has been postponed by eight days. The Chief Electoral Office has advised voters to go through the draft roll after it is published on August 31 and confirm their names and information.

According to the statement of the Chief Electoral Officer, the period for filing claims and objections has been changed from August 31 to September 30. The settlement of claims and objections which was to be done between August 24 and October 22, will now be done between August 31 and October 29. As per the revised schedule, the final voter list will be published on November 4 instead of October 27.

In an official statement issued on Wednesday from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi, it was said that the dates have been changed because the work of rationalization of polling stations has not been completed yet. Under this process, it has to be ensured that there are not more than 1200 voters at any polling station. The Chief Electoral Office said voters who have submitted their enumeration forms will be able to see their names in the draft voter list after it is published on August 31. The draft list will also be uploaded on the website of the Chief Election Office, Delhi.

Change in SIR schedule for the third time

This is the third time that election officials have made changes in the SIR schedule. The deadline for polling station rationalization has been extended till August 24. Under the new deadline, the work of rationalization and re-arrangement of polling stations was to be completed by August 17. Now it will be completed by 24th August. Similarly, the draft voter list will now be published on August 31 instead of August 24.

More than 1.45 crore voters in Delhi

According to the information, there are more than 1.45 crore voters in Delhi. The counting process of distributing incomplete forms started on June 30 and ended on August 17. According to government data, forms amounting to 97.52 lakh (67.21%) were collected and digitized. Due to this, 47.59 lakh (32.79%) voters were removed from the draft roll. Delhi's South-East district recorded the lowest digitization at 56.38%, while the outer North district recorded the highest at 75.68%.
