Let us tell you that the government cannot stop students from protesting. But, if any demonstration involves violence, disturbance of law and order or threat to public safety, then the administration can ban that demonstration. But, students cannot be forbidden from going to the demonstration. The Constitution of India gives every citizen the right to express his views and assemble peacefully. It has got fundamental rights under Article 19. Therefore, if a student wants to participate in a peaceful and legal demonstration, it is not right to stop him just by saying that he is a student.
If there is a possibility of violence, weapons, damage to public property or the risk of creating serious law and order problems in a demonstration, the police and administration can stop that demonstration or impose conditions on it. Cannot eliminate people's right to protest. Regarding this, senior Supreme Court lawyer Manoj K Mishra says that it is not right to stop such students from going to the protest. He said that the government cannot stop students from protesting without any reason.
