Galatasaray have stepped up their interest in Manchester United target Ismaila Sarr, according to reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

With fewer than two weeks remaining before the summer transfer window shuts, United are working quickly to complete business for the players they want.

Last month, the club confirmed the arrivals of Youri Tielemans, Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow. Then on Wednesday, reports emerged that United and Brighton & Hove Albion are in advanced negotiations over Carlos Baleba, who appears likely to become their third midfield addition.

Once the Baleba deal is done, United are expected to turn their attention to a left-back and possibly a striker, especially if Joshua Zirkzee departs.

There have also been suggestions that a winger remains under consideration at Old Trafford, although that may not be a major priority now because of Marcus Rashford's return.

Sarr had an outstanding 2025/26 campaign, registering 20 goals in all competitions as Crystal Palace lifted the Europa Conference League.

However, there has been little movement on that situation since Fabrizio Romano indicated that nothing would happen regarding Sarr until there was clarity over Rashford's future.

Romano has now reported that Galatasaray are keen on signing the Senegal international.

The Italian journalist wrote on X, "EXCLUSIVE: Galatasaray sent official bid to Crystal Palace for Ismaila Sarr as target for winger position."

"Sarr, open to discussions with Gala but it’s up to Crystal Palace as Ismaila seen as key player."

United are likely to be concerned by this latest development if they had been preparing a late move for Sarr, who is believed to admire the 20-time English champions.

Michael Carrick and his squad begin their 2026/27 season this weekend with an away trip to Hull City.
