NALSAR Controversy: CJP i.e. Cockroach Janata Party has supported the legal cockroach demonstration to be held today on 20th August, the protesters will demand the resignation of Manan Mishra. Actually, this whole matter started regarding the registration of law students of 2026 batch of NALSAR University. BCI President Manan Kumar Mishra had directed state bar councils not to register law graduates passed out from NALSAR this year as lawyers until further orders. After this decision of BCI, resentment increased among the students. The matter became more heated when Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant expressed strong objection to this interference of BCI.

CJI clearly said that BCI has no right to interfere in whatever matter is between the students and them. After this BCI withdrew its order. Not only this, on Independence Day, BCI President Manan Kumar Mishra also apologized to the students. He said that if any of his words or letters had hurt the sentiments of the students, he was sincerely sorry for it. But the controversy did not end here. Now the cockroaches are protesting against Manan Mishra, the legal cockroach of the Janata Party i.e. CJP. This protest has been announced by the All India Young Advocates Association and the main demand of the protesters is the resignation of the BCI President.
After all, what happened in NALSAR, after which the matter reached BCI?
Actually, there was a proposal to make CJI Surya Kant the chief guest at the convocation ceremony of NALSAR. Some students opposed this and wrote a letter to the university administration registering their objection. The students said that it is their right to express their dissent against the CJI on the issues on which he expressed his views regarding the Constitution, civil liberties and the voice of dissent.

After this controversy, BCI issued a registration order against the students, on which questions were raised. The matter reached the Supreme Court and the CJI raised questions on the role of BCI. Now BCI has withdrawn the order, Manan Mishra has also apologized to the students, but the demand for protest and resignation still continues. Now it has to be seen how far the demand for resignation raised against Manan Mishra goes after this uproar.
