Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has completely rejected the claim of Chinese Army coming inside Arunachal Pradesh up to 60 kilometers. He said that some parts of the India-China border have not yet been clearly demarcated on the ground, due to which such misunderstandings arise.
Tezzbuzz Desk- Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has given clarification on the claims of alleged infiltration of 60 kilometers along the India-China border in Arunachal Pradesh. Describing these claims as completely false, he said that China has not captured any Indian village nor has its army come within 60 kilometers of Arunachal Pradesh.
According to Rijiju, the border between India and China in Arunachal is quite long, but in many parts there is no clear demarcation on the ground yet. There are no border pillars or any such fixed line through which the border can be completely defined. He said that this situation has been going on for a long time and it is not right to present it as China intruding within 60 kilometers.
Accused of spreading wrong pictures on social media
The Union Minister also cautioned people about some pictures and videos going viral on social media. He said that false claims were being made by using pictures and videos to other places, even Bangladesh, as being from Arunachal Pradesh. Such misleading information creates confusion among people.
Rijiju said that the government takes seriously the concerns of the people living in the border area. He also made it clear that India is fully conscious about the security of its land and borders.
Increased surveillance of army and ITBP
According to Rijiju, security arrangements have been strengthened on the border. The Indian Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) have increased surveillance and patrolling in the concerned areas. He said that the issue of India-China border is very sensitive, hence one should avoid making claims on it without verification.
He warned that claims like China had intruded within 60 kilometers and sharing false photos could affect the morale of the security forces and create unnecessary confusion in the country.
The controversy comes at a time when the government has recorded 27 places and geographical features of Arunachal Pradesh with their standard names in the official maps of the Survey of India. Due to this, the discussion regarding India-China border and Arunachal Pradesh has once again intensified.
