Tokyo Narita Airport: The runway of Narita Airport, located near the Japanese capital Tokyo, had to be closed when black smoke was seen near the engine of an aircraft on Thursday morning. According to reports, following the incident the runway concerned was closed for investigation. According to reports, at around 10:40 am local time, the fire department received information that something like black smoke was seen coming out from the engine of an aircraft at the airport. Narita Airport administration said that Runway 'A' has been closed after the incident and investigation is underway.

The report quoted the police as saying that the plane was a passenger plane of Malaysia Airlines, which was moving on the runway for take-off. During this time, there was some problem with its engine, due to which the flight had to be cancelled. A total of 160 people were on board the plane, including passengers and crew members. At present there is no information about anyone being injured.
