Settlement. A demand has been made to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rajeev Nigam for payment of outstanding honorarium of health contract workers in Basti district for 06 months.

Let us tell you that due to non-payment of honorarium of Ward Boy and Ward Aya / Sweeper Chowkidar posted in the Health Department through Avani Paridhi Agency in all the Community Health Centers and Primary Health Centers in Basti district from February 2026 to July 2026, the financial condition of all the employees has deteriorated due to which all the families of the contract workers are on the verge of starvation and the families are facing many difficulties.

All the contract workers had complained several times to the Chief Medical Officer, Basti, Dr. Rajeev Nigam for the payment of their outstanding honorarium and had also met him. When they demanded payment of the outstanding honorarium in the CMO office, the contract workers were threatened by those responsible and it was said that if they act too arbitrarily, they will be fired from the company. The contract workers have demanded from the Chief Minister that orders should be given to pay the outstanding honorarium of all the employees so that the families of all the contract workers can be fed. While talking to the media team, some women employees said that the festival of Raksha Bandhan is in the coming month i.e. August, if the outstanding honorarium is not paid on time, then Raksha Bandhan, the holy festival of brothers and sisters, may get overshadowed. The outstanding honorarium money for 05 months has arrived in the month of July but till now the outstanding honorarium has not been paid.

Now the big thing is that when the outstanding amount of honorarium of 05 months of contract workers has been received by the government on 29 July 2026, then why is the outstanding honorarium of the contract workers not being paid? Various types of discussions are going on in the district regarding this. Now it remains to be seen whether the outstanding honorarium of the contract workers gets paid after the news goes viral on social media. While giving the memorandum to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rajiv Nigam, a large number of people including Pramod Kumar Pathak, Anil Kumar Maurya, Shiv Bahal, Vijay Kumar, Dinanath, Vijay Pratap Maurya, Satya Prakash, Sushil Kumar etc. were present.
