Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) spokesperson Manoj Pandey has reacted to the agitation by students of Jharkhand over irregularities in JSSC and JPSC examinations and the government's decision to cancel the examinations.

He said that incidents of rigging in examinations are not limited to Jharkhand only. The highest number of paper leak cases have been reported in BJP ruled states, but the way Chief Minister Hemant Soren took immediate decisions and took steps to improve examination, is an example for the entire country.

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha spokesperson Manoj Pandey said while talking to IANS on Thursday, “I think irregularities in the examination usually happen in many states.

It happened on a much larger scale. 152 exams were leaked in Bharatiya Janata Party ruled states and irregularities in exams, irregularities in jobs, Vyapam scam were done by Shivraj Chauhan and today he has been upgraded to become a minister at the Centre. We have seen all this.”

Taking aim at the BJP, he said that despite scams happening in other states, no action was taken, but the Jharkhand government immediately took strict steps.

Manoj Pandey said, “For the first time, when the news of rigging in the examinations came to light in Jharkhand, the surgical strike done by CM Hemant Soren for examination reforms is praiseworthy. Such an example will not be seen in the whole of India where so many examinations have been canceled simultaneously.”

He said, “The government took the decision keeping in mind the demands and sentiments of thousands of agitating students. But there is resentment among the selected candidates and it is natural to be angry. I do not consider it wrong. They are agitating. They have also gone to the court.”

JMM spokesperson clarified that now this matter is under consideration in the court and the government will consider the court's decision as paramount.
