Actress Shazahn Padamsee has ventured into music with her debut original single Raatan Kaaliyan, describing the song as a deeply personal reflection of how her understanding of love has evolved.
The track traces an emotional journey from seeking reassurance and depending on another person emotionally to discovering a more secure and mature idea of love. At its core, the song explores love as a connection that offers both safety and freedom to remain authentic, rather than something meant to fill an emotional void.
Speaking about her musical debut, Padamsee said music had always been a personal means of expression for her and that the new song allowed her to tell a story rooted in her own experiences.
“Music has always been a very personal form of expression for me, so making ‘Raatan Kaaliyan’ feels incredibly special. The song comes from a very honest place and reflects how my understanding of love has evolved. Until now, I’ve largely been part of other people’s stories. Raatan Kaaliyan is different, it is my story, told from the heart,” she said.
Padamsee added that the song marks a shift in how she approaches her artistic expression.
“For the first time, I’m not just the voice or performer, but the scriptwriter of my own journey, putting my life, experiences and honest reflections into music,” she said.
With Raatan Kaaliyan, Padamsee is beginning a new creative chapter that brings together her work as an actress, her artistic sensibility and her interest in music. The single presents a more intimate side of her creative expression, centred on personal experiences and reflections about relationships and love.-
