Earlier, Netanyahu spoke on this issue in a video posted on the social media platform 'X' on behalf of his Likud party. He said that Israel will not tolerate any Turkish military increase in Syria that poses a threat to Israel. Referring to the Israeli attack on Syria's Abu al-Duhur air base on Tuesday, Netanyahu said, 'We had made our message clear. Obviously they didn't hear it properly, so we made sure they understood it better.
Israel says that this attack was carried out because Damascus has given permission to deploy Turkish forces there. Turkey has rejected this claim and accused Israel of violating Syria's sovereignty. Early Tuesday morning, Israeli warplanes carried out eight airstrikes on the runway of Abu al-Duhur military airport located in Idlib province in northwestern Syria. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Israeli Army Chief Eyal Zamir visited southern Syria. The army said that this visit took place after the air strikes a day earlier.
