Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a target of 11 lakh 18 thousand 937 new pucca houses has been approved in the state for the year 2026-27. With this, thousands and lakhs of families living in kutcha houses are expected to fulfill their dream of having a pucca house.
Home entry of 2.35 lakh families took place
Griha Pravesh of 2 lakh 35 thousand houses was organized in the program organized at Bapu Auditorium in Patna. This means that a large number of beneficiaries have now started living in their new houses. The government says that the housing scheme is playing an important role in providing security and better life to poor families.
19 lakh people got houses in two years
According to government information, in the last two years, permanent houses have been provided to about 19 lakh people in Bihar. Now preparations are being made to connect more than 11 lakh families with the scheme through the new target.
Focus will be on families with kutcha houses
Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the objective of the scheme is to provide permanent houses to needy families. During the survey, emphasis will be laid on identifying eligible families living in kutcha houses and giving them the benefits of the scheme.
Along with housing, the government also focuses on rural roads, employment and economic strength of women. This is expected to significantly improve the standard of living of poor families living in villages.
