New Delhi. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has targeted the Congress Working Committee's proposal regarding Vande Mataram. He said that Congress has taken an anti-national decision yesterday. The Congress has decided to sing only two verses of Vande Mataram as per its 1937 resolution. The Home Minister said that, I want to remind the country that in 1937, Congress had laid the foundation for the partition of the country by distributing Vande Mataram to please the Muslims.

Amit Shah said, today Narendra Modi government has corrected this mistake of Congress to strengthen national unity. It has also been given a legal basis. He said that this decision of Congress clearly shows its appeasement policy. Congress has not only insulted this creation of Bankim (Chandra Chatterjee) Babu, but has also insulted lakhs of people who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country.

Amit Shah said, today the Congress party is implementing its 1937 resolution, but is rejecting the law made by the Parliament. He said, I am surprised that the Congress Party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi is once again pursuing the politics of appeasement. Amit Shah said, the country once made the mistake of dividing Vande Mataram into two parts and we have to suffer its consequences.

He said, now the country should unite against this decision of the Congress Party and say that its appeasement politics will not work anymore. Amit Shah said that BJP condemns this decision of Congress party.
