Begusarai Bureau. Another initiative has been taken by NTPC Barauni towards skill development of youth under the upliftment and community development of the surrounding society. Under the free residential skill development training program organized in collaboration with Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology, Hajipur, the training of 23 youth selected in ‘Machine Operator – Plastic Processing’ trade was started at CIPET campus, Hajipur. Project head Jaideep Ghosh, while congratulating the selected candidates, said that real development of any area is possible only when the youth are provided opportunities for education, skills and self-reliance.
NTPC Barauni has earlier also organized employment training programs like tailoring, embroidery and beautician for girls and women of nearby villages. A total of 52 candidates participated in the selection process for the current training programme, out of which 23 candidates were selected after interview by the expert team of CIPET. A total of 600 hours of residential training will be provided to the selected candidates over a period of four months. During the training, technical and practical knowledge in the respective trade along with skills as per the requirements of the industry will be developed. After successful completion of the training, CIPET will also provide guidance to the participants for employment and self-employment opportunities and assistance for placement in companies located at different places in the country.
The project head called upon the youth to learn with full dedication and discipline and acquire practical knowledge during the training. Chief Jaideep Ghosh said that skills are the basis of self-reliance along with employment. An individual’s self-reliance empowers his family and gradually strengthens the entire society. He expressed gratitude to the team of CIPET, Hajipur for their cooperation and wished a bright future for the participants. Dr. U., Director and Head of CIPET was present in the program. Team including P. Singh and D.S. from NTPC Barauni. Kumar, Additional General Manager (HR) and Keshari Nandan Mishra, Deputy General Manager (CSR) were also present.
